Skincare Level 2:

This subject offers students a comprehensive review of nutrition and physiology, introducing chemistry basics relevant to esthetics and the use of electrical equipment in esthetic procedures.

Knowledge Core Competency Objectives: Upon completion of this course, students are expected to reiterate issues related to human anatomy, nutrition, physiology, electrical equipment used in esthetic procedures, and issues related to skin care, skin analysis, and skin products.

  1. Repeat the principles and practices of infection control.
  2. Articulate the main concepts of general anatomy and physiology.
  3. Discuss the basics of chemistry.
  4. Discuss the basics of electricity.
  5. Explain the basics of nutrition.
  6. Repeat the principles of physiology and histology of the skin.
  7. Articulate the disorders and diseases of the skin.
  8. Describe the issues related to skin analysis.
  9. Explain the procedure to promote Skin care products: Chemistry, Ingredients, and Selection.

Skill Core Competency Objectives: Upon completion of this course, students will be able to address issues related to human anatomy, nutrition, physiology, and electrical equipment used in esthetic procedures. They will also be capable of performing specialized skin care treatments following correct procedures and precautions, supporting client needs, and selecting appropriate skin care products.

  1. Adhere to health, safety, sanitation, and infection prevention control guidelines in compliance with current legislation and industry standards.
  2. Apply relevant knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and histology to provide specialized esthetic treatments and services.
  3. Practice the basics of chemistry to ensure a safe work environment.
  4. Comfortably use a range of specialized equipment and products in compliance with established standards.
  5. Utilize the basics of nutrition for a better understanding of the role of diet in health maintenance and disease prevention.
  6. Apply relevant knowledge of skin care in providing specialized esthetic treatments and services.
  7. Utilize the basics of skin care for a better understanding of the esthetician’s role in recommending skin care products to clients.
  8. Apply the basics of skin analysis for a better understanding of the esthetician’s role in recommending skin care products to clients.
  9. Adhere to guidelines for recommending skin care products to clients
