In this module, you will delve into the crucial aspects of monitoring vital signs and measurements in a medical office setting. As a Medical Office Administrative Assistant (MOA), understanding the importance of accuracy and being proficient in taking and recording vital signs are fundamental skills.

Knowledge Core Competency: Upon completing this module, you will be able to recite the list of vital signs and measurements and understand their significance.

Objectives:

  1. List the importance of accuracy in vital sign measurements.
  2. Explain how to measure and record Temperature, Pulse, Respiration, Blood Pressure, Height, Weight, and Chest Circumference.

Skill Core Competency: After completing this module, you will be equipped with the skills to prepare and conduct vital sign measurements on patients.

Objectives:

  1. Take a patient’s Temperature accurately.
  2. Measure and record a patient’s Pulse effectively.
  3. Monitor and record a patient’s Respiration rate proficiently.
  4. Measure and record a patient’s Blood Pressure accurately.
  5. Record a patient’s Height and Weight precisely.
  6. Measure and record a patient’s Chest Circumference appropriately.
