In this subject, students will stay abreast of trends in the ticket-buying public, sponsorship, and merchandising. Simultaneously, they will understand the management and operational details required to execute sports events.

Knowledge Core Competency: Upon completion of this subject, a student is expected to recall the key steps involved in developing, managing, and executing sports events.

Objectives:

  1. List the key components of a PAPER test.
  2. Identify the major items that constitute event operations expenses.
  3. Explain how to recognize different event revenue streams.
  4. Summarize what sponsors genuinely desire from sports events.
  5. Discuss how to provide effective service to the media at event sites.
  6. Explain what should be included in sports event advertising.
  7. Discuss how to focus on and manage the community where the sports event is being held.
  8. List the technical tools required in sports event production.
