In this subject, students delve into the intricacies of organizing and executing destination weddings, covering everything from selecting local vendors and understanding licensing requirements to coordinating travel manifests.

Knowledge Core Competency: Upon completion of this subject, students are expected to understand how to orchestrate, manage, and produce exceptional events remotely.

Objectives:

  1. Explain the benefits derived from orchestrating, managing, and producing exceptional events remotely.
  2. List the advantages and disadvantages of selecting a destination for the wedding.
  3. Differentiate between various types of food and beverage services and estimate associated costs.
  4. Explain the requirements for securing a venue.

Skill Core Competency: Upon completion of this subject, students are expected to successfully manage clients’ wedding planning needs in unfamiliar territories.

Objectives:

  1. Demonstrate effective leadership, organizational, and communication skills relevant to destination wedding planning.
  2. Source suppliers and vendors for elemental and logistical requirements of destination weddings, such as rentals, staging, decor, performers, photographers, security, audio/visuals, and presenters.
  3. Select a venue and design a menu plan to accommodate event requirements.
  4. Produce contracts and demonstrate effective negotiation practices.
  5. Create budgets, schedules, and contingency plans for clarity and organization.
  6. Verify requirements for legal documentation (e.g., licenses, permits, insurance, taxes, etc.).
  7. Investigate various destination locations and outline all travel requirements.
