Corporate and Special Events:

In this subject, students gain comprehensive knowledge to confidently plan, host, sponsor, or attend corporate or special events. They learn essential tools for successfully organizing company functions, including product launches, conferences, sales meetings, incentive events, or gala fundraisers.

Knowledge Core Competency: Upon completion of this subject, a student is expected to list the tools necessary for confidently planning various company functions.

Objectives:

  1. State the importance of preparing an initial planning checklist.
  2. Describe the purpose of a function sheet.
  3. Explain the significance of location selection for event success.
  4. State the importance of transportation and guest list checklists.
  5. List major room requirements for a successful event.
  6. Consider factors when planning menus, staffing, and other special requirements.

Skill Core Competency: Upon completion of this subject, a student is expected to proficiently plan, host, sponsor, or attend corporate or special events.

Objectives:

  1. Prepare event plans and corresponding budgets for clients.
  2. Develop function sheets and checklists in advance of events.
  3. Select the most suitable location based on the size and scope of the corporate or special event.
  4. Provide transportation services to and from events.
  5. Prepare guest lists and manage guest guidance and distribution during events.
  6. Prepare venue requirements, including lighting and room layout.
  7. Develop food and beverage checklists.
  8. Create staffing checklists with assigned duties and responsibilities.
