This subject introduces students to QuickBooks as a small business accounting package, providing insights into performing day-to-day accounting transactions, individual financial entries, and utilizing sophisticated tools for business management.
Knowledge Core Competency: Upon completion of this course, students will be able to explain the QuickBooks computerized accounting software, covering the setup of a company’s accounting activities, the use of Inventory Management, and conducting Payroll Analysis.
Objectives:
- Explain the process of company setup, including Chart of Accounts and QuickBooks list.
- State how to set up Accounts Receivable & Accounts Payable, Sales Tax.
- Explain the setup of Payroll and tracking time.
- Recite the procedures for dealing with Inventory Management, including setting up items, ordering, receiving, and adjusting.
- Discuss the analysis of financial data, including creating, customizing, and saving reports.
- Explain how to customize forms and write QuickBooks business letters.
Skill Core Competency: Upon completion of this course, students will be able to use QuickBooks system functions effectively in any accounting environment.
Objectives:

- Record sales, create invoices, receive payments, and make bank deposits.
- Set up employees in the payroll system and produce payroll for the organization.
- Analyze financial data and create reports meaningful to the user.
- Set up and manage inventory, monitoring inventory activity.
- Communicate effectively using software pre-loaded templates.
- Write letters and create new forms as required.
