CACC Diversity Policy

PURPOSE

Canadian All Care College is committed to nurturing, cultivating and conserving a diversity, equity and inclusion culture.

CACC’s human capital is the most valuable strength CACC possesses. CACC embraces, encourages and educates the differences in age, colour, disability, ethnicity, family or marital status, gender identity or expression, language, national origin, physical and mental ability, political affiliation, race, religion, sexual orientation, socio-economic status, and other characteristics that make our employees unique.

SCOPE

This Policy relates to all College faculty, staff and students, especially those mentioned within the Policy.

POLICY

This Policy is for all members of the CACC community, promoting positive attitudes toward equality and diversity and ensuring that everyone is treated with respect and dignity. It ensures that no one will receive aggressive treatment based on age, disability, gender, race, sexual orientation, etc.

Canadian All Care College is committed to building an environment enriched with diversity and inclusion based on the following components:

Build Leadership and Accountability: Transforming the organizational culture by incorporating diversity within all levels of the community (i.e., administration, faculty, students)

Foster and Sustain Diversity and Inclusion: Implement diversity training and develop strategic plans to promote employee/student engagement.

All members of CACC are responsible for always treating others with respect. All members are expected to present themselves in a manner that idolizes inclusion.  

COMMITMENTS

CACC commits to:

  1. Encourage equality, diversity and inclusion.
  2. Create an environment free of harassment and discrimination while promoting dignity and respect for all individuals.
  3. Training all employees and students about all their rights and responsibilities within CACC
  4. Understand that individuals can be held liable for bullying, harassment, and discrimination while at CACC.
  5. Take all grievances seriously and strives to achieve a favourable resolution.

Any unlawful actions will be considered misconduct and dealt with, with the procedures set under the CACC’s Grievance, Complaint and Conflict Resolution Policy.

Stage 1 – Informal: Discussion/negotiation typically happens between the students and/or student representative and the Admin Coordinator.

Stage 2 – Formal Internal Complaint: One of the Campus Managers manages this.

Stage 3 – Formal Internal Appeal: That is managed by the President/ Head of the Department.

 

CACC will make training, development and progress opportunities available to all staff and students to encourage all individuals to reach their full potential. In addition, CACC

Management will review and constantly update all practices and procedures to ensure fairness.
